Five members of the 38-member national advisory committee of the Congress for Racial Equality met with top CORE officials last night, at CORE’s invitation, to discuss Negro-Jewish relations.
The meeting was one of the aftermaths of a controversy sparked by Clifford A. Brown, educational director of CORE in Mount Vernon, N. Y., who told a Board of Education meeting in Mount Vernon on February 3 that Hitler had not killed enough Jews. He later apologized and resigned. James Farmer, CORE national director, who called the special meeting, refused to make a statement on what happened at the meeting.
