United Stated initiative at the United Nations to ensure the success of the U.N. decision to partition Palestine was urged today in a communication to President Truman from Mrs. Joseph M. Welt, president of the National Council of Jewish Women.

U.S. representatives on the Security Council, Mrs. Welt advocated, should initiate action to “brand the Arab nations as aggressors in Palestine” and impose sanctions against them as defined in the U.N. Charter. She argued that the Jewish defense forces in Palestine should be equipped in accordance with the recommendation of the U.N. Implementation Commission and that an international force should be organized and sent to Palestine.
