David Sarnoff Named to Head Military Manpower Study Group

David Sarnoff, chairman of the board of the Radio Corporation of American, has been named chairman of a committee to study manpower problems of the Defense Department, Robert A. Lovett, Secretary of Defense, announced here.

Mr. Sarnoff, a Brigadier General in the last war, will head a group known as the Citizens Advisory Commission on Manpower Utilization in the Armed Forces, which will make a comprehensive study of ways to promote more efficient use of military manpower without reducing combat effectiveness. The commission will work with Assistant Defense Secretary Anna M. Rosenberg.
