The suggestion that Fascism might be widespread in the militia was vigorously denied here today in Government circles. It has not been necessary to take any special action to keep militiamen out of organizations which might be involved in disturbances “because the militia would be called upon as a last resort to put down any outbreak,” the Jewish Telegraphic Agency was told.

It was pointed out that army regulations permit men of all rank to attend all political meetings anywhere but in barracks, camps or quarters, so even if regular soldiers were involved in incidents such as the Fascist meeting at Toronto Monday night, no official condemnatory action is likely.
