Arab disorders were resumed in several parts of Palestine today after a lapse following termination three weeks ago of the six-month Arab general strike against Jewish immigration and the Government.
Jewish Lorries found the road blockaded near Ansbta, scene of a number of heavy engagements between British troops and Arab rebels. Roads between Mishmar Haemek and Jenin were also blockaded. As the trucks approached the barriers they were fired on by snipers hidden in the surrounding hills. No casualties were reported.
A woman was injured by a bomb explosion in an Arab house in Jaffa. Police discovered a revolver and a large store of ammunition. The landlord was Arrested.
Young Arab Nationalists were reported preparing to form picket lines in an effort to prevent transfers of land sold by Arab landowners to Jews. Sale of land to Jews was one of the factors in the recent Arab general strike, leaders of which demanded a Government ban on it together with stoppage of Jewish immigration.
Representatives of Arab youth organizations, at a joint meeting with Arab notables, are reported to have reproached the elders for having sold land to the Jews. The elders are said to have replied that the crisis compelled them to sell.
