Dr. I. M. Rubinow, secretary of the executive committee of B’nai B’rith, delivered a stirring address at this morning’s session of the 65th convention of the Sixth District, B’nai B’rith, at La Salle Hotel here.
Discussing the plight of German Jewry, he declared that immediate relief is necessary there, as thousands are reduced to absolute starvation. Money must be raised and dispatched without delay, he asserted. The next important thing, he said, is to find a place which could be used as a haven for refugees.
In the latter connection Dr. Rubinow suggested that efforts be made to extend the German immigration quota to this country to permit the entry of German Jewish refugees.
Marco Nadler, a confectioner, from Alexandria, Egypt, who is in Chicago to attend the Century of Progress Exposition, made an impassioned plea before the convention for an economic boycott against Germany.
