Dr. Chaim Weizmann, president of the Jewish Agency for Palestine, in a statement to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, said, “I am profoundly shocked to learn of the passing of Mr. Louis E. Kirstein, I have known Louis Kirstein for many years and had the privilege of working with him in various fields of Jewish endeavor. During the first World War his activities and generosity were of great help to the Zionist movement. Of late years, though not officially a Zionist, he was helpful to our cause in many directions as chairman of the United Jewish Front, His passing deprives Jewry of a loyal son and outstanding leader.”
