Eduard van Thijn, Parliamentary chairman of the Dutch Labor Party, told a meeting of the newly established Socialist-Zionists group that while the Labor Party and he personally are in solidarity with Israel it is not one of uncritical support. Israel must agree to establish a Palestinian state on the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, he stated. Van Thijn said he welcomed the fact that some Labor members of Parliament had contacts with Arabs. The Socialist-Zionists group has replaced the Poale (Labor) Zionists group which is no longer active here and is generally more left-wing than the latter.
