Eighty Russian Jews left the Soviet Union for Israel last year, and there are possibilities of more leaving in the future, Shmuel Elyashiv, who returned as Israel’s Minister to Moscow, declared here last night upon his arrival from the Soviet Union.
Mr. Elyashiv declared that relations have been better since his return to Moscow after the diplomatic rupture was healed. He stressed that trade relations between the two states have settled into a “routine.” He said that the Soviet authorities as well as Soviet consumers seemed to like Israel citrus products.
Three Jewish women arrived in Israel today after travelling from Soviet Lithuania across Europe and then through the Mediterranean Sea. All three were reunited with relatives. They are: Etta Fein, 48, who was reunited with her husband whom she had not seen since the war began; Chaya Blender, 48, and Dora Malina, 57.
