Mrs. Emma B. Mandl. founder and organizer of several Jewish and non-sectarian charitable institutions in Chicago, for sixty-nine years a resident of this city, died yesterday at the age of eighty-six.
Mrs. Mandl came to this country at the age of fifteen. During the last forty years she assisted in the founding of the Home for the Jewish Friendless, the Home for Jewish Orphans, the Ruth Club for Working Girls, the Wintired Tuberculosis Sanitarian of Wheaton, the Convalescent Home for Men and Boys and the Jewish Home Finding Society.
Among the honorary pall bearers are Jane Addams. Julius Rosenwaid and Judge Henry Horner.
