’empty Chair’ at Seder to Note Plight of Jews in Soviet Union

Dr. Zvi Taubes, chief rabbi of Zurich, has called on Jewish members of the community to institute in their homes this Passover a new custom of the “Empty Chair.” The chair would be left vacant during the seder services in remembrance of the plight of Soviet Jewry.
