Evidence to the effect that the anti-Semitic Hitler movement had the financial and spiritual support of the Italian Fascisti was offered in court here today during the trial of the case of Adolf Hitler against Graife, a member of the Reichstag, representing the Voelkische party.
Two witnesses, Oster Huber, editor of the “Bayern Kurier,” and the Socialist, Zersas, declared that during the Reichstag elections Hitler received money from Mussolini and that is why he “betrayed the German southern Tyrol.” The Voelkische leader, Brehiner, stated under oath that the “Fascist leaders believed I was a Hitlerite and therefore confided in me that Hitler received Fascist money.” He was spiritually and materially dependent on Mussolini. This was also the knowledge of the German Ambassador to Rome, the witness declared.
General Eric von Ludendorff, who was also a witness at the trial, admitted on the witness stand that he, as well as Hilter, was for many years in contact with an Italian attache. Outside of this, his memory does not serve him well, he stated, concerning the events of the period.
