FBI’s terror squads on post-Hezbollah alert

The FBI put its terror squads on alert for attacks against Jewish targets after a Hezbollah leader died in a car bomb blast in Syria.

The FBI said Thursday that it had instructed Joint Terrorism Task Forces in 101 communities across the United States to ask Jewish institutions to look out for signs of heightened dangers.

Hezbollah blamed Israel for the killing this week of Imad Mughniya, a terrorist believed responsible for hundreds of American, Israeli and Jewish deaths dating back to the 1980s.

The FBI warning came before Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah. Hezbollah’s leader, warned at Mughniya’s funeral that the killing brought Israel the prospect of “open war,” a euphemism for attacks on Israeli and Jewish targets outside of the usual Lebanon-northern Israel arena where Hezbollah has in recent years confined its attacks on Israel.
