Rabbi Edward Lissman, the first Jewish chaplain of the New York Fire Department, who was recently appointed to this office by Fire Commissioner Dorman, will be given a testimonial dinner at the Hotel Astor on March 23. Dr. Lissman was the founder of the Hebrew Tabernacle and Riverside Synagogue. In 1914 he was made honorary chaplain of the Department of Street Cleaning, and he is also the national chaplain of the Jewish War Veterans.
