The first tourists from Lebanon to visit Israel have crossed the Lebanese-Israel frontier at Ras-el-Nakura, Reuters reported today from Haifa. The tourists — two Mexican couples and an Arab citizen of France — are staying in Haifa and may tour Galilee, the report stated, adding that they are the first tourists from an Arab country to cross the Israel border.
Mayor Daniel Auster of Jerusalem announced today that the boundaries of the city have been extended to the west to almost double the present municipal area, a Reuters dispatch from Jerusalem revealed. The extension will not substantially increase the population of the city since the area encompassed is made up chiefly of small villages.
