A terse official government communique stated that former West German Defense Minister Franz Josef Strauss took leave of Premier David Ben-Gurion today in Jerusalem. The West German leader was accompanied by Deputy Defense Minister Shimon Peres.
It was also reported that he would be the guest of honor at a reception given by the Defense Ministry. However, just as his itinerary in Israel has been kept secret to avoid incidents, the date and time of the reception was not announced. It was expected to be held shortly before his departure the time of which also was not disclosed.
