A Bucharest court today began hearing charges against Leon Vanderger accused of repeatedly conducting convoys of deported Jews to Transnistria during the pro-Nazi regime and with robbing them of their belongings. The accused was in hiding since the liberation of Rumania and was arrested only recently when recognized on a Bucharest street by one of his victims.
