German People’s Party Held Illegal

The State S preme Court has handed down a preliminary decision declaring as constitutional the law prohibiting the activities of the “German People’s Party”. The final decision as to legality of this Party prohibited under the defens of the realm act will be announced later, the judges, after a protracted sitting, having been unable to agree.

The German People’s Party was accused of collusion with the National Socialist Party of Bavaria, led by Adolph Hitler, both of which were said to be under the virtual command of General Ludendorf.
