Gershon Avner, Israel’s Minister to Norway and formerly director of the United States Division of the Foreign Ministry, has been named Israel’s Ambassador to Canada, it was announced here today. He replaces Ambassador Yaacov Herzog who is now deputy director-general of the Foreign Ministry.
