Harry Freedman of Toronto, a composer and performer with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, was named an Officer of the Order of Canada in the New Year’s List issued by the office of the Governor General of Canada. Other Jewish Canadians who were named as Members of the Order in the list were: Sybil Shack of Winnipeg, educator and author; Michael Hornstein of Montreal, businessman; and David Azrieli of Montreal, designer.
