Dr. Eisig Silberschlag, noted Hebrew poet, has been raised to the rank of professor by the Hebrew Teachers’ College here of which he is a member of the faculty, it was announced here today. Other professorships were given to Dr. Nahum N. Glatzer, Jochanan Twersky, Israel Pollack and Benjamin J. Shevach, all members of the faculty.
Dr. Silberschlag, who is 42 years old, received his doctorate at Vienna University. He came to the United States at the age of 18. He is the author of several volumes of poetry, essays and of a play “In the Days of Isabella.”
