The International Headquarters of the Histadrut in the Western Hemisphere was opened here today amid all-day festivities. Mayor Vincent Impellitteri officially opened the head quarters by cutting a blue and white ribbon in the presence of 1,000 persons.
More than 2,000 representatives of cities and towns across the nation took part in a special rally in the afternoon at Temple Emanu-El where they heard addresses by Federal Security Administrator Oscar R. Ewing, Arthur Lourie, Israel consul-general at New York, and Dr. Joseph Burstein, special Histadrut delegate to the United States.
