Mrs. Felix M. Warburg, widow of the famed philanthropist; Joseph C. Hyman, executive vico president of the Joint Distribution Committee; Frank L. Weil, president of the National Jewish Welfare Board and Justice Meier Steinbrink of the New York Supreme Court, received honorary degress today from the Hebrew Union College. The ceremony took place at the Central Synagegue, at the Collage’s Spring convocation and annual Isaac Mayer Wise Founder’s Day Servico.
Mrs. Warburg was cited for being an “understanding promoter in manifold ways of Jewish culture and learning;” Mr. Hyman for his activities as a “zealous and constructive leader in projects of international Jewish relief;” Mr. Weil for ministering through the JWB to “the spiritual needs and social needs of Jewish men in service” and the Jewish youth of America; and Justice Steinbrink for being a “civic servant of probity and distinetion” and a “constant and inspiring exemplar of Judaism in action.”
