“Iron Wolf,” an organization of the forces of bigotry and hatred, being the Lithuanian replica of the American Ku Klux, Klan, is gaining in influence in the small republic of Lithuania, political emigrants who arrived here from Kovno stated.
The “Iron Wolf,” which is similar to the Ku Klux Klan, is spreading in Lithuania, the emigrants told the representative of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency. Although officially it is illegal, unofficially the organization receives the support of the government administration, and officials in the service of the government are at the head of the “Iron Wolf.”
The press does not report on the activities of the organization, but the Jewish communities in the provincial towns suffer greatly. Individual Jews are often beaten, windows in Jewish houses are broken and often firearms are used by the members of the secret order.
