Israel does not seek a final peace accord with the Palestinian Authority at this time, Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom said. “Taking a step toward a permanent-status agreement would be doomed to fail,” Shalom told Army Radio on Thursday after consultations with U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in Washington.
