Israel froze plans to import Turkish water. Israeli officials said Wednesday that the 2004 deal with Ankara, under which 1.75 million cubic feet of Turkish water was to have been shipped annually, was shelved due to high fuel costs. As an alternative, a water pipeline may be laid from Turkey to Israel.
