The Israel Parliament late today began a 30-hour debate on the proposed 1950-51 budget, which exceeds $341,000,000. The deputies will consider the joint government-Jewish Agency Supreme Development Authority during that course of the budget debate.
Earlier, Premier David Ben Gurion reported on the formation of the authority, which would be charged with planning and executing immigration and absorption projects. The Premier asked the Knesset to ratify the establisment of the body and its composition–four Cabinet Ministers including the Premier, represent the government, and four leading members of the Agency represent the world Zionist movement. He also stated that the agreement was subject to ratification by the next World Zionist Congress.
