Plans for the settlement in Israel of American veterans of the Israeli War of Independence were disclosed at a meeting of Detroit veterans by Jacob N. Kramer, director of the Israel Hotel and Expansion Projects, sponsor of the plan.

The project, called the Israel Veterans’ Self-Settlement Organization, would provide settlement opportunities for those veterans who wish to return to the Jewish state. They would be offered several fields of activity including the operation of private enterprises, employment in various fields and work in collective settlements.
