Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak vowed that sovereignty over Jerusalem’s Temple Mount would never be transferred to the Palestinians. Barak’s remarks followed reports that Israeli and Palestinian officials have discussed an American proposal to give the Palestinians rule over the Temple Mount in exchange for deferring the issue of Palestinian refugees.
