Israeli right-wingers blocked a major highway in a protest against the Gaza Strip withdrawal. Police cleared Sunday’s rush-hour sit-down demonstration from the Ayalon Highway outside Tel Aviv within minutes, but it still caused long traffic snarls.

A U.S. court revoked the citizenship of a former Nazi concentration camp guard. The court ruled last Friday that John Hansl had participated in persecution when he served in the SS Death’s Head battalion at Natzweiler and Sachsenhausen.
