Israeli soldiers arrested eight Palestinians in the West Bank as a security alert for terrorist attacks remained in effect. Arrests were made on Wednesday in the areas of Bethlehem, Jenin and Tulkarm. Palestinians said a 13-year-old was killed in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday when he was caught in gunfire exchanges between Israeli troops and armed Palestinians.
