Israel’s Cabinet unanimously endorsed legislation to detain “illegal fighters” who had engaged in hostile activities against the Jewish state. The initiative is aimed at providing legal justification for Israel’s continued detention of Lebanese Shi’ite prisoners in the hope of obtaining information about captured Israeli air navigator Ron Arad.
