Israel’s defense minister is backing a plan to build a security fence in the Gaza Strip. The plan supported by Benjamin Ben-Eliezer would be built between Palestinian territory and Israeli settlements in the northern Gaza Strip. The fence will not be built on Palestinian territory, Ben-Eliezer said. Israelis in Gaza long have demanded such a fence.
