The Soviet Government’s newspaper Izvestia yesterday attacked August Cardinal Hlond, Primate of Poland, for his recent statement in which he attributed the anti-Jewish outbreaks in Poland to the fact that Jews hold leading positions in the Polish Government, the Moscow radio reports.
Cardinal Hlond was linked with Cardinal Schuster of Milan, who recently preached an anti-Soviet sermon, as men “whose activities are but one of the weapons of international reaction, which constantly dreams of waging yet another war.”
