Richard Ehler, a carpenter, aged 81, was sentenced to two months in prison today because he declared that leading German members of the Nationalist party are really of the opinion that reports circulated here regarding Jewish anti-Nazi propaganda abroad are the inventions of Premier Goering of Prussia, second in command to Chancellor Hitler, and that agitation by Jews abroad against the Nazis actually did not exist. The court thought otherwise, and sent the octogenarian to prison.
A statement made by Paul Oppler, a printer, that a Jewish relative of his was beaten unconscious by hoodlums and left lying in the streets of Grunewald cost him three months in prison here. Oppler was sentenced by the court after it was decided that he was allegedly unable to substantiate his story.
