Eighty North African Jewish children attending summer camps in Bizerte were evacuated before the outbreak of French-Tunisian fighting and are safe and unharmed, it was reported here today.
The children, coming mainly from Algeria, had been at two camps organized by the Hashomer Hatzair and the Dror youth movement. On the eve of the fighting, the children were transferred first to Tunis and then back to their homes.
