Migration to the Jewish region of Bureya, in Siberia, has been temporarily stopped by order of the Comzet (Government Commission for Jewish Settlement) owing to lack of sufficient dwellings, because of the slow pace of the building work and the bad roads.
The local authorities are experiencing great difficulties in housing the 11, 086 settlers who have arrived in Bureya during the past two months.
