The administration of the Palestine railways has declined to consider the demand of the Rabbinical office to permit Jewish workers to rest on Saturday and work on Sunday. The railway authorities contend that work on the railways, particularly the loading and unloading of goods trains, is a public utility which requires work to be done on schedule time, irrespective of holidays.
