Many Jewish places of business in the Rhineland were looted and their proprietors mistreated during the disturbances on the Rhineland between the Separatists and German patriots when the French army of occupation left, it has now been revealed. These Jews were maltreated despite the fact that they had never associated themselves with the Separatist movement, always remaining staunch German patriots. In commenting on this the Rhineland press expresses its disgust with the National Socialists for introducing anti-Semitism into the dispute with the Separatists.
