The Congressional Medal of Honor, highest U. S. military award for valor, has been granted posthumously to Lieut. Raymond Zussman, 27, of Detroit, the Jewish Welfare Board reported today.
Lieut. Zussman, who was a tank commander, personally killed 17 Nazis, captured 92 and liberated the hamlet of Noroy le Bourg, in the Rhone Valley, during the engagement for which he has been honored. He escaped from the fight uninjured, but was killed three days later.
