Jewish Week Publishing New York Edition; Hochstein is Editor and Publisher

Expanding itself, the “Jewish Week.” an established English language Jewish newspaper, has begun publication of its New York edition under the direction of Philip Hochstein, a former executive of the Newhouse newspaper chain. The paper has been publishing in Washington, D.C. since 1965. Its New York edition is the result of a merger with the American Examiner, a Jewish weekly with roots as far back as 1857. Mr. Hochstein is editor and publisher. The executive edition of the Jewish Week is Victor M. Beinstock, a newspaperman and foreign correspondent who retired this year after 37 years as general manager and editor of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency. Bernard Postal, former public relations director of the National Jewish Welfare Board, and David Horowitz, last editor of the American Examiner and former president of the Foreign Press Association in New York, will serve as associate editors.
