At the Transvaal Congress of the Harenigde Party (Re-United Nationalist Party), it was decided, after a long discussion that Jews should not be permitted to become members of the Party and that the Federal Council should endeavor to persuade the parties in the other provinces also to exclude Jews from membership.

The whole agitation, says The Zionist Record, is “an artificial one, motivated purely by selfish material and political aims and playing upon ignorance prejudice.”
