Karl Sailer, Leading Austrian Anti-nazi Writer, Dies

One of Austria’s leading anti-Nazis, Karl Sailer, died today at the age of 57. Herr Sailor, a non-Jew, was assistant editor of the Social Democratic newspaper “Arbeiterzeitung.” He fled Austria in 1938, after the “Anschluss” and spent the war years in the United States, returning to Austria after the liberation.
