In support of its claim, the periodical quotes an inscription on a tombstone in a Budapest Jewish cemetery reading as follows:
“Here rests Frau Achilles LaGuardia, born Iren Cohen, died Oct. 24, 1915. Aged 56.”
Mr. LaGuardia, born in New York City, is of Italian descent.
