Neville Laski, president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, expressed the belief today that Poland would not “deliberately exclude a useful section of its citizens” — the Jews.
Mr. Laski spoke on the attitude of Poland to the Jews while presenting a congratulatory message to Jacob Rosenheim, president of the Agudath Israel, extreme orthodox organization, which is celebrating its twenty-fifth anniversary in Great Britain.
“We are convinced the Jews of Poland will not be considered apart from the Polish nation,” he said. “We have every reason to believe the Polish authorities are aware of the enormous advantages of a unified Poland.
“We do not believe recent reports that the Polish State will deliberately exclude a useful section of its citizens. I am sure that statements giving that impression are unjustified.”
