Governor General Le Beau today promised a delegation of Catholic, Jewish and Moslem spiritual leaders that legal proceedings would be taken against the notorious Nazi agent Lautier, whom the delegation accused of posting placards inciting to murder of Jews and confiscation of Jewish property. The delegation pointed out that Lauter’s activity had resulted in repeatedly grave disorders in Algiers and Constantine. The anti-Jewish posters had made their appearance in connection with the end of the Moslem fast month of Ramadan.
