Leon Karni, Noted Jewish Educator, Dies in New York

Leon Judah Karni, noted Jewish educator and director of the Hebrew High School “Marshallish,” died last night of a heart attack. He was 53 years old. Born in Palestine, he studied in Rome and Paris and came to the United States after World War L He received his master’s degree at Columbia University. From 1927 he was principal of the Central Jewish Institute School until he joined the “Marshallish” in 1942.
