Leslie Caplan, a former leader of the Australian Jewish community, died Aug. 14 at the age of 74 after suffering from Parkinson’s Disease. Caplan twice was president of the Executive Council of Australian Jewry, from 1985-1987 and 1989-1992, and was considered a consensus builder, the Australian Jewish News reported.
