The International League Against Racism and Anti-Semitism (LICA) has lodged a legal complaint against the Soviet Information Services here for encouraging anti-Semitism. LICA president, Jean-Pierre Bloch told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that the complaint would be lodged against the Services’ periodical “USSR” for the publication last week of an article entitled “The School of Unenlight-enment.” He said the periodical was subject to French law as it was not covered by diplomatic immunity.

“USSR” wrote in part that “according to the fundamental conception of (the holy scriptures) the world should belong to the followers of the all-powerful god Jehovah.” Regarding the Talmud and the Torah, the periodical said because of “these repugnant and odious rules, entire generations of Israelis have been inculcated from the cradle with a hatred of other peoples and are inspired to ‘massacre goyim under divine covering.'”

LICA said the text of the article qualified as a “violent call to anti-Semitism…flagrant racism, and to a pogrom.” The Israeli Embassy, in a communique, accused the Soviet Information Services of “gross anti-Israel sentiments mixed with vulgar anti-Semitism.”
