Max Etra Elected President of Union of Orthodox Congregations

Max J. Etra was elected president of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America yesterday at the closing session of the Union’s 53rd biennial convention, meeting at Yeshiva University. Mr. Etra, a New York attorney, succeeds Special State Deputy Attorney General William B. Herlands. He is vice-chairman of the Board of Trustees of Yeshiva University.
